Fallacies: Ad Homenim

The two best known fallacies, Ad Homenim and the Strawman, still seem to occur with surprising frequency. This leads me to ask myself if we truly understand these or just pay lip service to them colloquially. In this post, I will address the most common (and to me, the most pernicious) of them, the Ad Homenim fallacy.

Atheism vs. Religion

I will hereby come out of the closet officially and say this: I do NOT believe in God. Any god. I'm atheist. But I'm endlessly fascinated by the ongoing discussion between those that are religious and those that aren't.

George Carlin sums up alot of the problem with God that I have.

Textbook Stickers

Well, US District Court just ruled that stickers on Biology textbooks indicating that evolution is a theory not a fact have to be removed. This is a big win for science (or as someone put it, Reason: 1, Superstition: 0). However, I'd like to argue this point and begin putting these stickers on school textbooks!

Long live Picard!

Someone had too much time on thier hands (the maker of this or me, who listened to the whole thing). I don't know how to describe it, you have to see it to understand.

I especially liked Data and Jordi breakdancing in front of the warp drive. Nice touch.
